How much do your cakes cost?
Our cakes are customised to suit your individual needs and as such the cost can vary depending on size and design. Please contact us to request a quote
How far in advance should I order?
As soon as you have a date for your event we recommend getting in touch. Weekends and popular dates fill up quickly and we recommend getting in quick to avoid missing out. There are times thought that we are able to accommodate last minute orders so if you've left it to the last minute please get in touch as soon as possible as we may still be able to squeeze you in
What buttercream do you use?
All of our cakes are made using American style buttercream which is a sweet and sugary buttercream. We also use Swiss meringue buttercream which is a smooth and creamy alternative (not as sweet) and ganache. If you have a preference please let us know at the time of booking otherwise we will use American style buttercream as we find this is most popular
Do you use fondant?
We use fondant predominantly on our stamped sugar cookies however, we do not create entire cakes out of fondant.
Do you create novelty/carved cakes?
No, we do not however, we can work within a theme to create something unique for you
Do you cater to any dietary requirements?
At this stage we are only able to offer some dairy friendly and vegan options. We do not offer gluten free or nut free products. Please note we work in a kitchen that contains all of these ingredients so there is always a risk of cross contamination
Can you recreate other cake designers work?
We are happy for you to send us pictures of cakes to use as inspiration however, we will never replicate another cake decorators work. All cakes purchased from River City Cakes will have our own unique style
Where is River City Cakes located?
We are located in Camira, 30 minutes south of Brisbane CBD and 20 minutes from Ipswich
How do I pay for my cake once I accept my quote?
A 50% deposit is required once you accept your quote and this secures your booking. The final amount is due 3 days prior to pickup/delivery

How do i transport the cake?
We make every effort to ensure that your cake is well constructed and sturdy. We recommend placing the cake on a flat surface, either in the boot or in a foot well. A passenger may also hold the cake however, this is not recommended for tiered cakes. We also recommend placing a towel under the cake box or non slip matting to ensure the cake doesn't slide around and keep the car cool at all times
Can you accommodate last minute changes?
We will do our best to accommodate and last minute changes. Please be aware that additional fees and charges may occur due to this, which we will discuss with you at the time
How long can I store my cake for?
If you have left over cake after your event this can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator and up to 3 months in the freezer
